The program is open to children who are 5 -12 years of age as of August 1.

- Show up ready to practice - cheerleaders who are not participating will not be allowed to stay on the field
- Wear proper attire to practice - examples: athletic shorts, biker shorts, leggings, a fitted top, and socks with cheer shoes - open toe shoes and Crocs are not allowed
- Hair should be in a ponytail - hair clips are not allowed as they tend to fall out during practice
- No jewelry (stud earrings are permissible)
- No gum, candy, or snacks are allowed during practice
- Coaches MUST be present to perform stunts
- A parent must remain at the field during practice
- Cheerleaders should bring a water bottle
- Bug spray and sunscreen are recommended and should be applied before practice begins
- If your child cannot attend practice, please message the coach via the team communication app
- No alcohol, vaping, or pets. Please do not litter.
GAME DETAILS
All home games are played at "The Pit" located at 10400 George Lambert Rd., St. Amant, LA 70774.

- Cheerleaders are required to arrive 30 minutes before the game begins
- Cheerleaders must cheer for all four (4) quarters
- Cheerleaders will be dismissed by the coaches only
- Only coaches registered with the organization are allowed on the field
- Treat all players, coaches, referees, and spectators with respect
- Disruptive fans will be asked to leave - if you do not leave willingly, we will stop the game and have the police escort you out of the gates
- No noise makers or confetti are permitted at the games
- No ice chests, outside food and/or drinks (this includes alcohol) are allowed into the games
- Vaping is not allowed on school property
- It is our privilege to use "The Pit" for our home games and it is our responsibility to keep the football field and stands clean
UNIFORMS
Uniforms and equipment provided by the St. Amant Jr Gators are rented and must be returned at the end of the season. After competition, a scheduled drop-off day will be communicated to return uniforms and backpacks.

- Turtleneck
- Bloomers
- Backpack
- Set of poms**
- Hair accessories**
*Shell and skirt should be washed on a gental cycle and hung to dry
Parents must provide the following:
- All white cheer shoes
- Black sports bra
- Four (4) spirit sticks for each game (home and away)
CHEER COMPETITION
The SLYFA cheer competition is held annually at the football field of one of the participating SLYFA teams. The host location rotates each year and will be communicated once finalized.
To be eligible to compete, cheerleaders must cheer at a minimum of five (5) of the seven (7) scheduled games during the regular season. Attendance is taken at each game to ensure compliance with SLYFA rules and regulations. Cheerleaders who do not meet the requirements will not be eligible to participate in the competition.
